Destination Spain

At the end of last year I visited Spain—which has a lot to offer when it comes to conferences and incentive trips.

Just a short flight from the UK and easily accessible from all other countries, there are a range of hotels to suit all tastes and requirements.

My first stop was Barcelona where I stayed in the beautiful Hotel Palace — a five star hotel dating back to 1919 in the city centre.

The classic deluxe guest rooms have beautiful original Roman Baths complete with mosaic tiles.

The only down side was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room and no iron!

I then visited the fabulous Hotel Casa Fuster, also in Barcelona, for an elegant evening under the golden ceiling of Café Vienes which offers live Jazz music every evening after 9pm. The hotel has a selection of meeting spaces for up to 300 delegates and 75 luxurious guest bedrooms.

Hotel Melia Colon in Seville was my next destination. This is a thoroughly modern hotel set within an historic exterior, ideally located for exploring the delights of Seville.

The hotel itself has 11 meeting rooms and 3 restaurants offering a variety of excellent dining options.

I then explored Seville under the guidance of a very helpful DMC.

We toured the city centre on foot then by horse and carriage, indulged in a tapas tour, a river cruise, visited the Flamenco museum and saw an exhilarating Flamenco demonstration before having dinner at in the stunning conservatory of the Oriza Restaurant.

As well as the restaurant and conservatory, Oriza offers 3 private elegant dining rooms.
