After a trip to Barcelona and Seville at the end of last year, I continued to explore hotels and venues in Spain but this time in Madrid.
My home for this visit was the wonderful Intercontinental Madrid. Centrally positioned it is less than 30 minutes from the airport and, as you would expect from a 5* property, the staff here were extremely helpful and the food is fantastic. The hotel itself has 17 meeting spaces (maximum 630 delegates for a reception) centred around a circular lounge which can be used for breakout space or private dining for an event. There are 302 bedrooms in total either overlooking Madrid or the small private terrace.
And if you are looking for some private space to take a group out of the hotel for a drinks reception or private dining consider Circulo des Ballas Artes which, as well as a fixed auditorium, has a selection of meeting spaces including a Ballroom suitable for a cocktail party for 1200, private dining for 500 or equally suited to a fashion show, product launch or party! There is also a rooftop terrace with fantastic views over Madrid.
If you are looking for a venue with the Wow factor you need look no further than the Casino de Madrid. Dating back to 1836 this impressive building has 9 rooms available for private hire including 2 private night clubs and the dramatic entrance hall which is a very impressive area for a drinks reception.
Thyssen Museum offers private tours once it has closed to the public and can also cater for a cocktail party or gala dinner either within the museum or in the private garden. All these venues are in central Madrid so easy to get to.
