We try to fit in as many hotel visits and presentations as we possibly can in order to get an up to date picture on the properties available for your conferences, events and incentives. Here are just a few that we have spoken to or visited over the last month.
Enquiries are coming through now for summer events which means that hotels will be filling their spaces. If you are planning a summer event, in the UK or abroad, please do let us know what you are looking for and we can send you some options to have a look at.
I recently visited 3 of the 4 hotels owned by Sarova and was very impressed. I didn’t make it as far as the Abbey Hotel in Malvern but here is a little more information about the other three.
Sir Christopher Wren hotel in Windsor is an elegant, historic hotel with 133 bedrooms and 7 apartments for longer stays. The largest meeting room can hold up to 65 delegates in theatre style and is supported by several smaller rooms for breakout space, meetings and catering.
The hotel incorporates three buildings in the heart of Windsor on the banks of the Thames and there is a patio area which has its own mooring making it ideal for a private drinks reception before boarding a river cruise for dinner. A great base for a scavenger hunt around Windsor and I can definitely recommend the afternoon tea!
Just a short drive up the road is The Bull at Gerrards Cross. Based around a 16th Century coaching house, it is deceptively large with 4 spacious meeting rooms which can hold up to 220 and can be split into 13 separate room. There are also grounds for activities and beautiful gardens for outdoor dining. The bedrooms are all spacious and well equipped, the upgraded rooms having a complimentary minibar.
Both hotels above are just outside London and well worth the journey if you want to get out of the capital. But if you want to stay in London The Rembrandt in South Kensington could be the one for you. This hotel was originally built as apartments for customers of Harrods and this is reflected in the spacious bedrooms. All meeting rooms have natural daylight and there is also a pool and spa. Located within easy reach of the Royal Albert Hall, London Museums and the West End it would be an excellent choice for incentive trips that include entertainment and free time.
All the staff at these Sarova hotels were very friendly and helpful, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the food was excellent, even the breakfast, which is often a challenge at peak times, would score 10/10!
We often say that we can book all your events whether you are looking for a meeting room for 2 or a conference for 1000, close to home or abroad. So, here are a couple of small homely hotels and some high capacity venues too!
Cowley Manor in the Cotswolds is a contemporary hotel with a big attitude! The 31 bedrooms are spacious and the hotel itself offers an award-winning spa with indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant for up to 100 guests and the 55 acres of grounds can be put to good use for team building activities.
The Cotswold House Hotel has just the right balance between modern and traditional. There are 4 meeting rooms as well as the lounge, restaurant and garden where guests can get together. There are 28 bedrooms in the hotel and if you need more the sister hotel across the road has another 28 rooms.
Smallest of them all is Arden House in Stratford upon Avon which has a total of 10 double bedrooms. Hire this hotel exclusively for residential board meetings or for an incentive trip. And if you want to mix things up, its big sister the Arden Hotel, a short walk away can provide additional dining options, access to river cruises, and pre-performance dinners for those attending a production at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre over the bridge.
All 3 hotels can be hired exclusively which adds a real sense of luxury to a private event, ideally with plenty of advanced notice.
And then there are the big venues…
Reading Football Club Conference Centre is 30 minutes by train from London Paddington and has 32 meeting rooms. The largest space can hold up to 600 guests for a standing reception and the smallest are the executive boxes which overlook the pitch and can seat 10 in boardroom style. The 2000 parking spaces make events that bit easier and the Voco Hotel which is onsite offers 201 bedrooms.
For International events, there are so many to choose from…
We recently booked the Epic Sana Hotel in Lisbon which has a massive capacity of 1000 for a conference with plenty of additional breakout rooms. The hotel has over 300 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, and from May to September a rooftop pool, spa and a bar which would be a lovely venue for a drinks reception for 100 guests.
