February 2016 Newsletter

The new year is well underway and the summer, with its warmer weather, will soon be here—we hope!  We have had emails and presentations from hotels and venues both in city centres and further afield telling us about their outdoor spaces and the activities that can be organised.

There is plenty to choose from so if you are planning a get together, big or small, and want somewhere interesting we can look at a variety of destinations for you.

IET Savoy Place London has just undergone a £30 million refurbishment and is looking amazing.  Every room showcases cutting edge technology from the lecture theatre for 626 delegates to the roof terrace for a reception for 200, or the riverside suite with its own balcony overlooking the Thames—you will not be disappointed!

Royal Armouries in Leeds is a fantastic venue.  Sylvain attended a dinner here last month and was really impressed with the facilities, the food and the staff. Located on the modern waterfront development it is close to the city centre and has great parking and local hotels.

There is a selection of meeting spaces including the New Dock Hall which can hold up to 1200 delegates in theatre style, the lecture theatre for 250, the exhibit halls for drinks receptions or the Edwardian Gun room for an intimate dinner for 16.  The possibilities are endless.

We have always been impressed by the service offered by Chelsea Football Club when it comes to meetings and events.  There is an enormous space for exhibitions or dinners and plenty of smaller rooms overlooking the pitch for board meetings or to use as breakout rooms.  They can also do private screenings, garden parties, tours and events on the pitch and with a hotel and parking on site it is a great London option.

The Malmaison Liverpool is the brand’s only purpose built hotel and has been designed with a Gotham City feel.  The hotel has cost £21 million and was only opened last year.  The hotel has 128 guest bedrooms, 2 football themed suites and a number of rooms for conferences, private dining and boardrooms as well as a sun terrace overlooking the Mersey which will be perfect for summer drinks parties and BBQ’s.

Your feedback

Great feedback for Montague on the Gardens, a Red Carnation hotel.  They are a lovely group of properties and the staff throughout the group are always so helpful and friendly.

We also had good feedback for Richmond Hill Hotel.  The hotel has a lovely town house feel, with 142 bedrooms and it is just 30 minutes from Central London.

One of our clients booked Hellidon Lakes (a Q Hotel) for the first time this year and was really impressed.  The hotel is lovely with really well thought out meeting rooms and delicious food but the thing that really makes for a great event is the staff and she said that they couldn’t have been better.  Top marks all round!
