Welcome to our September Newsletter 2025

Louise had a couple of days away from the office to visit hotels in the Surrey area, they are all hotels we book for our clients, and it was very beneficial to see them once more.

Holiday Inn Shepperton and Storyboard at Shepperton

First stop of the day was the Holiday Inn. The hotel has been refurbished in last few years with the meeting rooms relocated to the front of the hotel. They now have their own entrance with a foyer area which serves all the meeting rooms.
The Set can hold around 200 for dinner and splits into three separate rooms and there are two additional breakout rooms holding up to 16 guests.
The hotel benefits from lots of outside space which can be used for team building, BBQ’s, drinks receptions and there is also plenty of parking.
If you are staying overnight there is a restaurant, large open bar and an outside terrace.
The Hotel also has a swimming pool and gym.

Oatlands Park

The hotel has a lovely setting in 10 acres of grounds. This is a traditional hotel with lots of history.
The main meeting room can hold 400 theatre style or 150 cabaret style and there is a selection of smaller rooms for breakouts and private dinners.
The meeting rooms have high ceilings and original features but with a modern/contemporary feel
La Terrazza has a retractable roof with access to the garden, making it a a perfect space for private dinners for around 100 guests.
The Mulberry Restaurant offers classical dining with a twist as well as stunning views across the gardens.
The hotel is only a twenty-minute drive from Heathrow Airport with plenty of free parking.

Woodlands Park

Another hotel with lots of history set in landscaped grounds and gardens
There is a total of 8 meeting rooms with the largest holding 200 theatre style or 75 cabaret style.
The rooms have daylight, overlooking the grounds. There is also a brand-new terrace opening onto lawns which is ideal for outdoor team dining and team building events.
The hotel has 57 bedrooms, two restaurants and complimentary onsite car parking.

Hilton Cobham

A really well-located hotel, just one mile from junction 10 of the M25 and 30 minutes to Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.
The hotel has a variety of meeting space from small boardrooms to the main suite which can hold 300 theatre style or 150 cabaret style.
The spacious grounds are ideal for outdoor activities where you can also play table tennis, arrange a BBQ and make use of the pizza oven.

De Vere Horsley Estate 

The last hotel to visit set amidst acres of Surrey Parkland. The hotel is located only 10 minutes from junction 10 of the M25 but you are in the middle of the countryside.
The Estate mixes the history of Horsley Towers with the contemporary Horsley Place Conference Centre.
Horsley Towers is the turreted 19th century Mansion House with stunning rooms for private dinners and high-level meetings.
The Conference Centre has modern meeting rooms equipped with excellent technology.
The Estate has a total of 51 flexible meeting spaces, the largest room holding 200 theatre style or 120 cabaret style
The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and gym

Welcome to our July Newsletter 2025

As we contemplate the start of our 24th year in business, and before we take you down to memory lane, we want to share some show rounds we had recently in London which we hope you will find interesting.

The Royal Horseguards Hotel and One Whitehall Place, Westminster, London

I like to call it the “James Bond alley”, tucked just steps from the Houses of Parliament, this elegant hotel is perfectly placed near the London Eye offering incredible views of the Thames and Big Ben.
A five-star hotel in the heart of London offering good value for money, the hotel has 280 bedrooms and Suites, whilst the adjoining Whitehall Place offers a striking selection of spaces, across 14 meeting and event rooms. The Whitehall Suite for instance, can host up to 260 delegates in a theatre Style or 120 delegates in a cabaret style.
Exciting additions are on the way this Autumn, including a private Cellar, Mr Kipling’s Tea room and the Whitehall Tavern. And don’t miss this hidden gem this summer: their English Garden Terrace, tucked away in the middle of London.

Now for something different…

Over the years we have booked apartments in London and other UK Cities for our clients for both short and long stays in apartments in London for our clients.
I was lucky enough to stay at Locke near Aldgate, and I was very impressed by the security, the room with full air conditioning and plenty of space to work in the evening and excellent facilities. The rates are competitive for London, especially if booked in advance and we also receive preferential rates booking on behalf of our clients.

Memory Lane…We are about to start “year 24” in business and many memories came to mind…

2002: The Euro enters circulation and the outbreak of SARS.
nexusvenue starts trading with 5 clients.
2003: Louise, Barrie and Wendy join the team
2004: The Birth of Facebook as well as emails starts being used in business. The fax machine is becoming obsolete! nexusvenue confirms their first largest conference and event management in South Africa, confirming the first £1M revenue in total.
2005/2006: Youtube and Twitter are launched – 5 people work full time at nexusvenue with 78 clients. nexusvenue is awarded the World Agency Award with Leading Hotels of the World.
2007/2008: iPhone, Spotify and Google Chrome are born.
The team at nexusvenue has reached 6 and we have doubled our turnover.
2009/2010: Swine flue pandemic, bitcoin has landed, iPad and Instagram are launched.
The team is now 7 and we have 127 clients.
2011/2013: Another economic crisis, the world population has reached 7 billion and Prince George is born. nexusvenue resists the economic downfall…keeping the staff and our clients.
2014 /2016: Vote on Brexit happened in 2016 and whilst this happened, it was a remarkably busy time for nexusvenue with many incentives, group bookings, large conferences in the UK and overseas. We have now tripled our revenues.
2017/2019: Donald Trump is inaugurated as president of the US; the economy is unsettled and most of the staff at nexusvenue are celebrating 14 years of working together. 2019 being one of the best years for the company with 192 clients.
2020/2021: Covid – All stop for nexusvenue and our industry. 17 May 2021 is a slow restart.
2022: The rebirth of nexusvenue with a team of 3 and 125 clients in total.
2023/2024: Lots of hard work and keeping positive, all our clients are now back.

We are in the swing of things and finally Summer is coming our way. More daylights and longer days make us more positive

This month we are looking at the Algarve and “the city of lights”, Paris with three different properties and three different budgets.

W Algarve, Albufeira, Portugal

The Hotel du Collectionneur, Rue de Courcelles, 75008 Paris

Les Jardin du Marais, 75011 Paris

My favorite area in Paris, very bohemian, arty, and so easy to navigate from this district to the Eiffel Tower, le Louvres, Centre Pompidou and so many other areas.
Les Jardin du Marais is a good 4-star hotel, value for money, quirky and near the metro.
263 harmonious bedrooms and suites, a bar, a restaurant, a spa and sauna without forgetting the patio area. It has a blend of elegance with a 1930’s style.
There are 14 possibilities of meeting spaces combined with a maximum of 80 delegates in a Cabaret style or 120 delegates in a theatre style and 120 delegates for a cocktail reception.

Le Patio Bastille, 75011 Paris

This is more of a bijou smaller 3-star hotel with character. The location is very well known between La Bastille and La Nation. Easy to navigate once again to the main points of interest in Paris. 86 well-appointed bedrooms and 2 meeting spaces which can accommodate a maximum of 20 delegates in a classroom style or 30 delegates in a theatre style.

Milton Hill House, Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Milton Hill House is surrounded by 22 acres of tranquil parkland and is the perfect venue for your next event. Offering a range of 21 meeting rooms with AV technology, it is ideal for conferences, meetings and training, comfortably catering for more than 170 guests in a theatre style or 100 guests in a cabaret style. In addition, there are extensive grounds that are perfect for team building activities. Milton Hill also has over 120 comfortable guest bedrooms. The sweeping drive, landscaped Italian gardens, and beautiful vistas make Milton Hill a lovely setting for celebrations and special events. With onsite leisure facilities including walking routes, a swimming pool and gym there is lots to do to relax after an event.
The venue is currently upgrading some of the ground floor areas to enhance the guest experience, creating a fresher and more sumptuous feel in keeping with the heritage of the building. Welcome to our April newsletter 2025…Happy Easter

In this newsletter you will see ideas for hotels in London, Lyne near Chertsey and Leamington Spa. Additionally, we are including a selection of restaurants and venues in London for you to consider.
Over the years we have visited hundreds of Hotels and Venues in the UK and overseas, and Tanya has the opportunity in March to sample the hospitality of the Sarova Hotels group.
Tanya experienced The Rembrandt in London, Sir Christopher Wren in Windsor and the Bull Hotel at Gerrards Cross. She was also incredibly lucky to see Le Cirque du Soleil “Corteo” at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Rembrandt Hotel London, South Kensington

An excellent location just a 5/10-minute walk from Harrods & 10 minutes’ walk to the Royal Albert Hall.
The Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum are all opposite to the hotel.
Food was lovely, staff attentive and friendly, the hotel is lovely too and clean and particularly good value for money. Inside the décor is in keeping with the age and style of the building.
194 bedrooms and 5 conference rooms with the maximum capacities of 110 delegates in cabaret style and 200 delegates in theatre style with natural daylight. There is also the Aquilla Health and fitness boasting a 15 metres heated swimming pool (chargeable). Ideal for smaller groups

Foxhills Country Club, Golf Club and Resort, Stonehill Rd, Ottershaw, Lyne, Chertsey

Located in Chertsey, Surrey, Foxhills is near Woking and Guildford. The venue is a short drive from both the M3 and M25 and just 20 minutes from Heathrow Airport
The hotel has 66 bedrooms with 9 meeting spaces hosting events up to 150 delegates in a theatre style in the Club house or 70 delegates in a Cabaret style. The hotel also has an extensive range of leisure facilities available to each event such as Yoga Cabin, Art Studio, Padel & Pickleball Courts, 3 x Golf Course, Driving Range, Spa & Gym. There is lots for guests to enjoy.
There is a marquee on the lawn of the hotel. The hotel is ideal for an Executive Board meeting too.

Woodland Grange, Lemington Spa

Woodland Grange is a versatile conference venue offering 114 comfortable bedrooms and 32 fully equipped meeting rooms with a maximum capacity for 200 delegates theatre style, making it an ideal location for business events and overnight stays. Set in a peaceful countryside setting, it provides a productive and tranquil environment for conferences, meetings, and corporate gatherings. With modern facilities and ample space, Woodland Grange is the perfect venue for your next professional event.
Having booked the venue recently for a meeting for 25 people with a private dinner, we were really impressed with the menus offered and received great feedback on the venue and the food.

Merry Christmas

As the festivities are not too far away, we wanted to let you know when we will be closing for the Christmas break.
The office will be closed from 12.00 noon on Tuesday 24th December 2024 and will re-open at 9.00 am on Thursday 2nd January 2025.
We would like to take this opportunity to thanks all our clients for the incredible year we have had, a record year since we started in 2002. We wish you a fantastic festivity break when it happens, and looking forward to be helping you with your events and bookings in 2025 and beyond …

November News 2024

Welcome to our November Newsletter.
October has been a remarkably busy and a very interesting month.
We started the month completing an Incentive trip to Paris for one of our clients.
